2nd Annual Zonie Awards

This summer I attended the 2nd Annual Zonie Awards, which were sponsored by ISES (International Special Events Society) and were held at The Venue in Scottsdale. Check out my previous post about some of the winners from this year's awards! This location is incredible. The awards had a Moulin Rouge theme and special performances by acrobats and contortionists.

Nate & Ashley's Wedding

Congratulations to Nate and Ashley who had a magnificent wedding at the Firerock Country Club in Fountain Hills, Arizona. The entire day was elegant and timeless, with moments of spontaneous laughter and joking erupting periodically from this super fun couple. My favorite moment from the wedding day occured during the portrait session when Nate decided to show off for Ashley by juggling some apples.

Billy the Goat

When I worked as a newspaper photographer, the other staff photographers would tease me about my love of feature photography. They called me a feature hound since I would always return with an image to fill the empty space on the front page of the paper. These slice-of-life images have always given me such a charge because of the fleeting nature of the moment before you. Luck is opportunity meeting preparation. If I hadn't had my camera with me, I would never have been able to make these pictures.

On a feature hunt you never know what or who you might find. Recently, I had an experience where my love for exploring the city paid off. My friend Chad and I were walking to dinner when we passed this man walking his new pet goat. The goat was appropriately named "Billy" and had been purchased as a replacement for a goat who had just passed away.

Working with Emotion Media has been a big part of outsourcing our technology needs. This company is constantly working at innovating new ways for photographers to up their game by developing jaw dropping presentations.
